Program Overview
Ages: Ages 5 to 12
Kids Connect is a structured, welcoming after-school program designed to support working families while giving children a safe, active, and engaging place to spend their early dismissal afternoons. Held on Early Release Wednesdays, the program blends movement, learning, creativity, and social connection under the supervision of certified staff.
Children rotate through age-appropriate activities that encourage physical wellness, academic focus, and positive peer interaction in a consistent and supportive environment. The program operates only when school is in session.
Schedule
Wednesdays: 2:50 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Rush County Recreation Center
Closed when school is not in session
What’s Included
Supervision by certified RCRC staff
Structured activity rotations
Pool time with certified lifeguards on duty
Gymnasium activities and active play
Homework help, reading time, and quiet games
Safe, predictable routines in a welcoming setting
Optional Enrichment Opportunities
Children enrolled in Kids Connect may also participate in additional youth programs offered at the Recreation Center. These enrichment opportunities are designed to expand skills, confidence, and creativity.
Available add-on classes may include:
Kids Drumming
Splish Splash Water Fun
Next Wave Swim Academy (swim lessons)
Other seasonal or specialty youth programs
Additional registration and fees may apply for enrichment classes.
Pricing Options
Monthly Kids Connect Program Fee: $25
ORYouth Membership: Includes access to the Rush County Recreation Center 7 days a week, plus eligibility for youth programs and activities
Rules & Regulations
Enrollment & Attendance
Advance registration is required
The program is limited to enrolled participants only
All required forms must be completed prior to the first day
Attendance is limited to listed program hours
Check-In / Check-Out
Children are checked in upon arrival from school dismissal
Only authorized adults may sign children out
Photo ID may be required at pick-up
Late pick-ups may result in additional fees or program suspension
Behavior Expectations
Respect for staff, peers, and facility rules is required
Bullying, aggression, or unsafe behavior is not permitted
Repeated behavioral issues may result in removal from the program
Health & Safety
All pool, gym, and facility safety rules must be followed
Lifeguards supervise all aquatic activities
Parents must disclose medical conditions, allergies, or special needs
Children who are ill should not attend
Personal Belongings
RCRC is not responsible for lost or damaged items
Electronics and valuables are discouraged
